Becoming a Profit Expert
Here we are… already at the end of this season of the Power of Profitability podcast. Let’s take a look back at where we’ve been…
This mission of this podcast and of The CFO School is to give you the tools to provide more value to your clients AND to help you build a stronger business. We know that bookkeeping is often an undervalued skill – and can even become a commodity to your clients or potential clients. That is hard on everyone – for your business, for you personally (and all those in your inner circle) and to small businesses that you can benefit from the profit focus expertise you can bring.
Through just the one tool we did a deep dive on in this series – the monthly or weekly snapshot – you can make a HUGE difference in all of these areas. I know that sounds idealistic but we’ve seen it happen. We’ve seen our clients start to relax back into their businesses. We’ve seen them let go of the anxiety around their numbers because they start to understand it more. That’s not about how smart we are or make ourselves seem – it’s about organizing and communicating it in a way that empowers them.
It is possible to get your current clients to shift. It is also possible to attract new clients that want this profit focused view. No one wants to hear how great you are at Quickbooks. They want to know how you are going to help them run their business better.
Here’s what to do next if that is you:
Take the information in this season of episodes and start using it. You don’t need anything else to start making changes and more impact.

Consider expanding your knowledge of profit-focused business services even more through one or more of our trainings at The CFO School. These are designed specifically for bookkeepers and similar service professionals who are committed to being value-added service professionals.
Every training we do – just like this podcast- is focused on action and implementation. I could wax poetic and tell stories for days but that doesn’t always help you build your business or impact your clients. Consuming more information doesn’t move the needle or give you the impact that you want to have in your client’s businesses. There are very real opportunity costs for you and your clients by doing things the way they have always been done. Whether it is a big shift or a small tweak, becoming a profit-focused expert is going to change the trajectory of your business and that of your clients.
I promise you won’t regret it.
